Darrell W. Helton was born in Detroit, Michigan, and has been a native of Texas for over 30 years. Mr. Helton graduated in 1989 from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He attended law school at Regent University in Norfolk, Virginia, and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1995, after which he was licensed to practice law in Texas.
Mr. Helton has focused his legal practice on workers‛ compensation, social security disability, and other forms of administrative law. Mr. Helton routinely practices before the Texas Department of Insurance-Division of Workers’ Compensation and the Social Security Administration. Mr. Helton has represented clients in hundreds of contested case matters and hearings before both agencies, as well as at trial.
Mr. Helton is proud to be a deacon at Highland Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, and is involved in many charities, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative. Other activities enjoyed by Mr. Helton include participating in City of Waco softball and volleyball leagues and spending time with his wife of 11 years and their three children: Ty, Heather and Shep.
